Charles Brown – Bull In A China Cabinet
LP Fracture Electronic Music [FEM 101] (1981)
Performer [E-Mu 16 Voice Micro-processor Keyboard], Composer, Producer, Engineer - Charles Brown
Side One is intended to be pop music via the electronic, as opposed to electric, medium. Requiste was the emphasis on a dance beat, with complexity subservient to the rhythm. On Side Two, more unusual timbres and rhythms are explored. The material is a program based on a very unpleasant stay in the hospital with a kidney stone. This experience is electronically realized by the use of tonal and atonal settings mixed with fixed and free-form rhythms.
